Job Description:
The Production Manager maintains the digital video server for
WilliNet’s two channels, manages the studio and equipment use, and
teaches video production skills to community members. The PM
maintains the WilliNet website in partnership with the Executive
Director.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Program and maintain digital video server (Tightrope) for ch 16 & 17
* Teach individuals and groups all aspects of video and studio production
* Oversee technical demands of WilliNet’s website and continue to
develop its interactive potential
* Work with Technical Director to maintain and upgrade equipment and
to oversee technical needs of remote sites
Qualifications:
We’re looking to hire someone who is part ‘tech-head,’ part ‘people
person,’ with the touch of an artist who is committed to the mission
of PEG access and community media initiatives.
Specifically:
* Strong digital video production skills (studio & field); Mac & PC literate
* Experience with digital video server technology, Tightrope System preferred
* Ability to teach technical skills to a variety of individuals and
diverse groups in an engaging and positive fashion
* Experience with web design and knowledge of social networking trends
* An understanding of the mission of PEG access television and
interest in the future of community media
Compensation:
Salary low $20K for 30 hours per week, some evenings and weekend
work; health benefits; paid vacation/holidays.
WilliNet serves the small college town of Williamstown, MA on channels
16 and 17 provided by Time Warner Cable. The three part-time staff
members and the Board of Directors work together to empower the
community to utilize this avenue of free speech. Williamstown sits in
the heart of the Berkshire Mountains, three hours from NYC and Boston
and is home to Williams College.
