Topia Invites You To Perform in Symphony of 1000 Carpenters
Topia Arts Center is having an event called the Symphony of 100 Carpenters. There will be groups of people for the live performance and we would like to invite you to participate as an individual joining a group or bringing a group of friends or an organization you are part of to form a team. These groups are between 6 and 8 people with a team leader. Each leader follows a timed cue sheet and tells their group when to start or stop the event, which will be shaking a bag of nails, hammering, sanding, etc. There will be a general rehearsal on Tuesday June 8th between 7 and 9pm. There will also be a run through rehearsal prior to the show between 6pm and 7pm if participants can't make the general rehearsal. To be a team leader you must be at the Tuesday rehearsal on June 8th.
This community building performance is June 12th at 7pm and will last one hour. Each team member will bring a handful of light nails, a handful of heavy nails, a hammer, sandpaper, a piece of wood, an apron to hold nails, tape measure, a tin lunch box (or metal tool box) and an apple. Each pair of carpenters will bring a saw horse to share.
Participants will be there to witness the old vaudeville stage extension and sign their names on the under side of the planks of wood that will be permanently fastened during the show.
